Sectra will highlight its new PACS generation enabling a workflow just as efficient whether radiologists are working locally or across department and hospital boundaries. Sectra PACS features RapidConnect™, a unique technology which allows radiologists to work from anywhere that offers reasonable Internet access, and share images and information between multiple locations-with ease. This way, Sectra PACS provides the opportunity to cope with ever-expanding challenges such as increased financial pressure, shortage of resources as well as increasing data volumes. Northern Ireland and Region Skåne are two perfect examples:

- Northern Ireland, where 25 hospitals will be connected via a common Sectra RIS/PACS solution creating a single enterprise with a single database and image archive, is a perfect example of how different healthcare units, and even an entire healthcare systems, can be joined together. As a result, an integrated flow of images and information can be created, ensuring that available resources are utilized optimally and thus increasing efficiency.

- Region Skåne, where 10 hospitals perform nearly a million radiology exams annually, is linked together in an overall radiology IT infrastructure delivered by Sectra. This is another example of how efficient use of resources can be achieved through improved distributed radiology cooperation within and outside a region.

Sectra will also showcase the latest additions to its RIS/PACS offering including an add-on package to Sectra RIS enabling efficient scheduling and documentation of complex procedures within subspecialties such as nuclear medicine, medical physics and cardiology thereby significantly improving clinical and administrative workflows at the department.

A unique photon-counting mammography system

A growing number of providers of medical technology point to photon-counting as the future in medical imaging. At ECR, we will continue to push for the new generation of our unique photon-counting full-field digital mammography system, Sectra MicroDose Mammography. It is currently the only commercially available photon-counting mammography system. Sectra MicroDose Mammography is optimized for high volume screening, maximizing image quality using 50% of the radiation dose compared with other FFDM systems.

Sectra MicroDose Mammography features the latest developments within photon-counting technology. Photon-counting is a technology for better images, lower dose and fundamental advantages in several advanced applications, such as contrast mammography, dual-energy and tomosynthesis.

At ECR, we will demonstrate a totally integrated solution for mammography screening, including Sectra Screening RIS, Sectra MicroDose Mammography, and Sectra Breast Imaging PACS, all designed to efficiently streamline the mammography workflow.
