Reacting to the recently published RPSGB Code of Ethics - CPD, the NPA welcomed both the removal of restraints on the recording format which a pharmacist can use and additional clarity on the amount of CPD to be recorded.
The NPA's Margaret Peycke said:
"In our response we made it clear our members should be allowed flexibility on how and where CPD is recorded - web based recording is not a universal ideal and I am pleased that the option of using different electronic recording methods has been included, and paper based recording retained. This means that pharmacies can design their own innovative methods to support recording that fit with business needs. As we move to an era where clinical services become increasingly important its vital professional development tools, such as CPD, encourage rather than hinder innovation."
