Fiona McElwaine, a Specialist Radiographer at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, has received a national award for her work developing dietary advice for patients undergoing certain diagnostic tests.

Fiona, who lives in Othery and has worked at Musgrove for over ten years, is part of a dynamic team of gastrointestinal radiographers at the hospital. She said "As a team we were aware that we have many patients in our department and throughout the Trust requiring a low residue diet as part of their preparation for diagnostic tests such as barium enema CT colonography and colonoscopy. To help advise patients on these restrictive diets I produced a poster and a range of easy-to-follow recipes developed in collaboration with our hospital dieticians."

The award was given at the National Gastrointestinal Radiographers Special Interest Group Conference. Recipes include Macaroni Cheese, Special Fish Pie and Pavlova, and are all available on the Musgrove Park Hospital website.

The attached picture shows Fiona with the poster she designed.
