The MS Trust would like to thank all the people who have contributed to a project to identify gaps in research in the management of bladder problems.

For the past two years the MS Trust has been working with the James Lind Alliance to identify areas of 'clinical uncertainties'. People with MS and health professionals were invited to complete a questionnaire listing areas of bladder management where they felt they were faced with uncertainty regarding the best choice to make.

At the end of 2008, representatives from the 21 partner organisations involved in the project gathered to reduce the 519 uncertainties mentioned to a short list of key areas.

The final stage in the process will be to submit a list of prioritised research questions, which will be published in a medical journal and presented at conferences.

Jenny Henderson has represented the MS Trust during this project. Commenting on the project so far, she said, "The project took almost two years to fulfil, but I feel that the uncertainties that we have identified are the major ones, with several of them particularly relating to people with MS."
