Physician Groups for Coordinated Care (PGCC) -- which is comprised of physician groups, independent practice associations, and medical groups from across the country -- commits to working with and supporting the Obama Administration as it seeks to achieve accountable and coordinated health care as outlined in the just released White House budget.

Today, Physician Groups for Coordinated Care (PGCC) spokesperson Dr. Jay Cohen said, "President Obama's new budget clearly demonstrates that he gets it when it comes to the critical health care needs of all Americans. We applaud the provisions that enhance coordination of care and that recognize the providers of that care. These kind of provisions echo the principals on which our organization was founded."

"Those principals," continued Cohen. "Being the coordination of care through organized groups of physicians, expanded use of payment methodologies that encourage physician collaboration, effective preventive and chronic care management, the deployment and use of health IT, accountability for all health care physicians and providers, the use of economic incentives to achieve superior performance, and the organization and development of physician groups across the nation."

"Finally, " stressed Cohen. "We commend the President's vision and his decision to hold a health care reform summit that rightfully includes the voices of doctors, other health care providers, and businesses in a bipartisan manner designed solely to help the American people. We believe our group, with it's physician driven perspective, brings a valued and needed voice to this critical debate."
