The National Anemia Action Council (NAAC) announced today the addition of a new educational presentation about iron deficiency anemia available on their website, www.anemia.org.
Created by NAAC's anemia experts, the Iron Deficiency Anemia slide set is the latest in a series of free, downloadable presentations designed to educate healthcare professionals about anemia management practices. Also available from NAAC is a corresponding patient information handout on iron deficiency anemia.
Other slide sets and patient information handouts cover anemia associated with cancer, chronic kidney disease, hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, inflammatory bowel disease, nutritional deficiencies, rheumatoid arthritis, surgical patients, critically ill patients and the elderly. Individual slides or entire presentations may be used for informational and educational purposes to:
- Introduce anemia management practices to students and residents
- Supplement material for academic lectures and presentations
- Outline anemia prevalence and treatment options in continuing medical education
For any questions regarding content of the presentations, how to download them, or to obtain written consent for personal use of the slides, please contact NAAC staff.
NAAC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing expert, in-depth information about anemia to medical professionals, patients, caregivers, students, researchers, writers and the media. Dedicated to raising awareness of the prevalence, symptoms, consequences, and treatment options of anemia through education, the organization offers many services on its website, http://www.anemia.org.
