Statement from Charles Connor, President and CEO of the American Lung Association:

The American Lung Association commends SC Johnson for its decision today to fully disclose all of the ingredients in its cleaning products. This decision is an excellent step that will inform the public about the ingredients of household products, a particular concern for people with lung disease and families with children, whose growing lungs need special protection. We applaud the efforts of SC Johnson to reduce their corporate emissions of air pollutants in the past few years. The wind power that powers one of its key U.S. manufacturing plants, and the tremendous reduction since 2001 in their emissions of a key raw ingredient that creates ozone, volatile organic compounds, are both positive steps to help create healthier air. We look forward to SC Johnson continuing to review its products and processes to further protect lung health by reducing air pollution. At the American Lung Association, we believe in fighting for healthier air.
