The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation and LearnSomething, Inc., a nationally recognized provider of pharmacy, grocery and healthcare training programs, announced a new, complimentary patient-centric safety training course. The online course, entitled Quality and Patient Safety: A Training Program for Community Pharmacy, will provide pharmacy professionals with tools and skills to help ensure quality and patient safety in their pharmacies.
"Patient safety is priority number one for the pharmacy community," said Chairman of the NACDS Foundation and President and CEO of NACDS, Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE. "Pharmacy is the front line of healthcare and the face of neighborhood healthcare. It plays an essential role in safeguarding patient safety in this ever-growing and complex healthcare delivery system.
"The NACDS Foundation is proud to partner with LearnSomething, Inc. in a collaborative effort to maximize the safe usage of medications by patients," continued Anderson. "This is fundamental to the Foundation's goal of improving and strengthening the pharmacist-patient relationship for the benefit of patient care."
The Quality and Patient Safety: A Training Program for Community Pharmacy is designed to be flexible to meet the specific training needs of individual pharmacies and can be tailor-made to include individual pharmacy's policies, procedures, logos and customizable introductions. One hour of Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) credit is available to individuals who successfully complete the program, which can be accessed at: http://www.nacdsf.learnsomething.com.
