UroToday.com - I wrote this manuscript on pediatric robotic urology to delineate the procedures done today in pediatric urology with robotic assistance.

The take home message from this manuscript is to choose your patients carefully as the robotic platform needs room to operate effectively. Robotic pediatric urologic procedures such as pyeloplasty, ureteral reimplantation, abdominal testis surgery, and partial or total nephrectomy - with or without ureteral stump removal - are routinely performed at select centers offering robotic expertise.

Complex reconstructive surgeries such as appendicovesicostomy, antegrade continent enema creation, and augmentation cystoplasty can be performed but are still in their infancy.

We need to embrace this technology to help its evolution so we can deliver health care anywhere..the true mission of robotic technology.
