Nicola Murgatroyd, instrumental in pioneering the role of the Clinical Trial Administrator (CTA) and founder of specialist CRO Phlexglobal, is presenting at a workshop on the evolving role of the CTA next month.

The CTA Workshop, entitled The Whole Picture, is part of the Institute of Clinical Research's (ICR) Maximise Your Potential series and will be held at the institute's headquarters in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire on Friday, May 8.

The day-long workshop will see delegates discussing the past, present and future role of the CTA, along with the career path, and the training and qualifications available to CTAs. In addition other industry specialist speakers will present on the future of clinical trials, the implications for CTAs, and a day in the life of a clinical trial subject.

Nicola commented: "When I started my career in the pharmaceutical industry, I saw the need for the CTA role and worked with the ICR to define it more clearly and grow it in the industry. It has been very exciting to be able to influence the role and watch it evolve over the years.

"As CEO of Phlexglobal, I am passionate about encouraging more clinical research professionals to develop their careers in this industry. From CTAs to Clinical Research Associates to Project Managers, it is an exciting industry with new opportunities opening up all the time."

Based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, Phlexglobal is highly experienced in resourcing and recruiting CTAs, Document Managers, CRAs, Project Managers and other specialist positions. Specialists in flexible staff resourcing, eTMFs, scanning, clinical trial management and support, archiving and training, Phlexglobal count 16 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies as clients.
