M2SYS Technology, an award-winning fingerprint biometrics research and development firm, announced that VinDec Enterprise Solutions has integrated M2SYS' Bio-Plugin(TM) fingerprint software and M2-EasyScan(TM) fingerprint reader into its blood donor management system. The biometric identification system will be initially used by the Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) Blood Bank.

Bio-Plugin(TM) enabled VinDec to immediately integrate and distribute a seamless fingerprint biometrics system, including a high-performance fingerprint identification engine, without the time, cost, and support burdens that are common to low level fingerprint SDKs.

Previously, the AMA Blood Bank used manual procedures to identify professional and proxy donors, posing serious health risks from misidentification. Bio-Plugin(TM) will require donors to undergo fingerprint verification before registration so that these risks are eliminated.

"With manual identification procedures, it became very difficult for us to differentiate between genuine blood donors and proxy donors," Dr Ashok Agarwal, President of Allahabad Medical Association. "In addition to safeguarding our patients by ensuring the accurate identification of donors, we noticed that the fingerprint biometrics system also drastically improved our operational efficiencies - a welcomed secondary benefit."

"With the integration of Bio-Plugin(TM), we were able to quickly provide to the AMA Blood Bank a hassle-free fingerprint biometrics solution that will save the organization time and money. Since blood is donated quarterly, fraudulent donor activity will be quickly identified through this solution," stated Mr. Pawan Rastogi of VinDec Enterprise Solutions.

"When a patient needs healthy blood it becomes a life or death situation," commented Michael Trader, President of M2SYS Technology. "Using our biometric software and scanners, blood banks can avoid the life-threatening risks that are associated with misidentifying donors and can deliver clean blood from known sources to patients."
