Cardiac Science Corporation (Nasdaq: CSCX), a global leader in AED, ECG, cardiac stress test, cardiac rehab, and Holter devices that connect to EMR and HIS systems, announced that it completed certification for its HeartCentrix(R) ECG connectivity software with Sage Intergy EHR electronic health records system. Sage is a leading developer and provider of computer-based practice management and electronic medical record (EMR) systems for medical group practices and healthcare systems.

Sage healthcare products are used by tens of thousands of clients nationwide and accommodate the work style and clinical approach of every physician in a practice. Sage's current and future Intergy clients will be readily able to communicate with HeartCentrix connectivity software from Cardiac Science, pulling data directly from monitoring devices into the electronic health record. Similarly, Cardiac Science's customers can choose Sage as their EMR partner and be assured the patient information will flow smoothly into the health record.

Designed to communicate seamlessly with EMR software, HeartCentrix solutions help streamline workflow in multiple healthcare environments. HeartCentrix - which enables seamless data transfer from Burdick(R) and Quinton(R) brand electrocardiograph (EKG) devices, cardiac stress, and Holter monitoring devices to physician EMR software - can be installed with a new Sage Intergy EHR implementation or into an existing Intergy system.

"The physician today demands solutions that improve office workflow efficiencies, support the sharing of patient data between multiple systems, and enable the movement of patient test results across the healthcare continuum," said Tony Titus, vice president of marketing for Cardiac Science. "Our HeartCentrix-Intergy integration gives our customers leading-edge capabilities to meet these demands."

"Cardiac Science is a leader in ECG, Holter, cardiac stress, and automated external defibrillator sales into the physician office," noted Maureen Peszko, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Sage Software Healthcare, Inc. "Connecting to the existing Quinton Q-Stress cardiac stress systems, Burdick Atria ECG, Holter, and other devices they already have is another reason for physicians to confidently choose to work with Sage."
