The newly revised 2009 print edition of Geriatrics at Your Fingertips (GAYF) - the American Geriatrics Society's acclaimed, compact guide to healthcare for older adults - was released here today at the Society's Annual Scientific Meeting.
With the "graying" of America, healthcare professionals are caring for growing numbers of older adults. That's why the completely updated 11th edition of Geriatrics At Your Fingertips is a must-have clinical tool for all healthcare providers. It provides immediate access to the comprehensive information needed to care for older adults in a variety of healthcare settings.
GAYF 2009 reflects new clinical guidelines, diagnostic and treatment options, and newly approved medications. It includes new sections on estimating life expectancy; multiple myeloma; prescription drug misuse; and perioperative medical therapy to reduce cardiovascular complications of surgery. In addition to invaluable tables, algorithms, assessment instruments, and a detailed index, GAYF 2009 denotes medications available as generic formulations that may be less expensive for patients, and includes updates on Medicare Part D coverage.
More than 10,000 copies of the print edition of GAYF are sold annually. This ever popular clinical tool for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers and trainees is also available in PDA format. GAYF for PDAs offers more than 25 working calculators and assessment tools, extensive index and search functions, and tools to create notes and bookmarks.
