Executive vice president is pharmaceutical industry veteran Arthur Simon, Ph.D.
Though new in name, Palm Beach CRO - a clinical research organization recently formed in West Palm Beach, Florida - is headed by a veteran pharmacologist and clinical research executive: Arthur Simon, Ph.D.
Palm Beach CRO is an outgrowth of Palm Beach Research Center, a contract clinical research facility that has conducted more than 500 clinical trials in its 15-year history and has worked with more than 110 pharmaceutical companies.
Palm Beach CRO was created in December of 2008, and Dr. Simon named as executive vice president, to offer pharmaceutical companies and their executives a new option for outsourcing the overall management and supervision of clinical trials, including multi-center trials. Services provided by Palm Beach CRO run the gamut from site evaluation, protocol preparation and site documentation to site closeout and data management and analysis.
As executive vice president, Dr. Simon brings more than 30 years of pharmaceutical research and development experience to the position. He spent 24 years as president and CEO of Research Testing Laboratories, Inc. in Great Neck, NY, a hybrid research company consisting of a site management organization (SMO) and a contract clinical research organization (CRO) with more than 100 employees. Dr. Simon directed all aspects of RTL's clinical research activities for Rx, OTC, biotechnology, nutraceuticals, and medical devices.
"We're pleased to have an industry veteran of the caliber of Art Simon to lead this new clinical research organization," says David Scott, MBA, CCRC, chief executive officer of Palm Beach Research Center. "His wide-ranging expertise and high level of accomplishment in the industry offer excellent value to pharmaceutical executives as they outsource their clinical trials."

Dr. Simon earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He earned a master of science degree in physiology at Fairleigh Dickinson University and a doctorate in pharmacology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
