Accu-Chek has launched an award-wining website for people with diabetes. Patients can now be informed about Accu-Chek's news and products via an award-winning site packed with engaging interactive tools, such as videos and an online ordering facility, in a layout which allows the user to surf effortlessly through the content.

The Webby Award which is a highly recognised international prize to honour excellence over the internet placed the Accu-Chek site within the top 15% of over 10,000 website submissions.

"We are delighted that the Accu-Chek site has been recognised in this way. The new interactive marketing approach adopted by the Accu-Chek team has really advanced the brand and has provided a richer and more fulfilling interactive experience for the customer," said Brett Lewis, Director of Diabetes Care at Roche Diagnostics Limited.

The new look of the website was tested with customers in the UK, USA and Germany. Its interactive guide to the Accu-Chek product family helps patients to find the blood glucose system that best fits their lifestyle.

The website redesign enhances customers' experience and was developed following patient requests to better meet the needs of users.

"We have found that customers are looking for more product information from our website as opposed to general diabetes health advice. The Accu-Chek website therefore guides patients through the portfolio and directs them to state-of-the-art medical websites, where they can find reliable and up-to date information on their condition," continued Brett Lewis.

Throughout the UK more than 21,000 patients and healthcare professionals visit the site every month. To experience the site for yourself, please visit: http://www.accu-chek.co.uk.
