Canon U.S.A. Introduces The CR-1 Mark II Digital Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera For Eyecare Professionals

Adding to its line up of complete total digital imaging and workflow management solutions for eyecare professionals, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in medical imaging, today introduced the CR-1 Mark II Digital Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera.

The CR-1 Mark II can achieve extremely detailed, high-resolution diagnostic images of the retina and enables a full 45-degree view angle to help the eyecare professional detect and monitor ocular conditions. When attached to a Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR Camera (sold separately), which provides up to 15.1 million pixel resolution, the CR-1 Mark II is capable of delivering clear and detailed diagnostic images for virtually immediate review. The low flash intensity of the CR-1 Mark II minimizes pupil contraction, thus shortening the time required for taking multiple pictures such as binocular and stereo images.

The CR-1 Mark II comes with Retinal Image Control Software, facilitating comprehensive study management and image capture control at the operator's finger tips through a simple to use graphical interface. The PC-based software provides quick input and access to all information and images required to assist in diagnosis, and data can be easily saved to various external media. The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) Standard-compliant interface facilitates easy integration with select PACS and HIS network configurations*. The Retinal Image Control Software and network capabilities work together for streamlining overall diagnostic workflow.
