The panel voted 26-33 to defeat the amendment, offered by Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.) and Lincoln Davis (D-Tenn). The committee approved the FY 2010 funding bill by voice vote, and House Democrats hope to have the measure on the floor by late next week (Clarke, CQ Today, 7/8).
