National Institutes Of Health Chooses Web Of Science(R) To Power Electronic Scientific Portfolio Assistant (eSPA)

Thomson Reuters with Discovery Logic, Inc. announced that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has chosen Web of Science((R)) data to power the NIH electronic Scientific Portfolio Assistant (eSPA). eSPA is an information technology system designed to assist NIH grants management officials in creating grant portfolios and tracking research outputs and outcomes, including publications and citations.

The real-time access to grants and output data this platform provides is a powerful interface for analyzing grant portfolios," said Keith MacGregor, Executive Vice President, Scientific & Scholarly Research at Thomson Reuters. As the prime contractor on this award, Discovery Logic will link Web of Science data to NIH grants, clinical trials, publications, invention reports, patents and other scientific data sources by providing custom software development services, database services and data analytic services. Web of Science is the world's largest citation database, providing researchers, administrators, faculty and students access to more than 11,000 actively covered, high impact journals and 110,000 conference proceedings, totaling 45 million documents and more than 1 billion cited references.
