APIC Anywhere, an online education center recently launched by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), features interactive, online content developed by clinical experts to educate healthcare personnel on preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Participants may obtain continuing education credit for completed coursework, tailor content to match their learning objectives and receive real-time feedback to assess their performance.
BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company, has stepped forth to be the first industry sponsor of APIC Anywhere, pledging top-tier support through 2012. BD is committed to applying its expertise, resources and technologies toward the prevention of HAIs worldwide.
"We are pleased to have BD's support to launch this comprehensive, state-of-the-art learning platform," said APIC CEO Kathy Warye. "While resources are declining, the need for education has never been greater. BD's educational grant for APIC Anywhere will enable us to deliver more content to more infection preventionists in a more cost-effective way."
APIC Anywhere features, to date:
- APIC's HAI Elimination Library via Healthstream, which compiles APIC's evidence-based elimination guides into an interactive, online format
- Webinar series
- Conference education library
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) review course
