The American Medical Student Association, the nation's largest, independent medical student organization announces Physicians' Forum, a consortium of health care organizations, presented AMSA's Executive Director Paul R. Wright with a lifetime achievement award for his dedication and accomplishment in leading initiatives and giving power to medical students to take action and create changes in medical education. The award was presented last night at the Activist Physician's Dinner in Washington D.C.
Through a long-standing career at AMSA, Wright has been a colleague and advocate for medical students. He has spent his career helping develop generations of physician leaders who hold the highest ideals for their profession and for ensuring that medical students are and will be a vibrant force for change.
Other awards presented at the Activist Physician's Dinner: The Cornely Award to Dr. H. Jack Geiger, founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility and The Barsky Award to Dr. Paul Farmer, co-founder of Partners in Health.
Recently, Wright was also chosen among Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.
