Physical activity is a great way to improve your fitness levels and is an important part of managing both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes UK has assisted Nuffield Health (formerly Cannons Health Clubs), one of the UK's leading healthcare providers, in developing a programme for people with diabetes, which runs over 12 weeks at 37 Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Centres.

Nutrition and exercise

The programme focuses on nutrition and exercise, both of which play essential roles in diabetes control and weight management.

'Health MOT'

This comprehensive programme starts with a 'Health MOT' with a Senior Wellbeing Advisor where baseline measurements are recorded. Current diet habits are discussed and a bespoke exercise programme is designed for you with easy-to-measure targets and a log book to keep track of your achievements.

Supported every step of the way

You will have full support from your Senior Wellbeing Advisor every step of the way and at the end of 12 weeks, a repeat of the 'Health MOT' will assess your progress and set you on track for the future.

Find out more about the programme and how to join.

Keeping active this autumn couldn't be easier. Start today - all Diabetes UK website visitors will be eligible for a free day pass to a participating Nuffield Health centre.
