The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is proud to be selected by the Mental Health, Addiction and Retardation Organization of America (MHAROA) as one of the 31 national charities admitted into the Combined Federal Campaign's (CFC) 2009 workplace giving campaign.
"As an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adolescents and their families, AACAP is pleased to be chosen as one of the charities to participate in the CFC," said Executive Director Virginia Anthony. "Having the opportunity to benefit from this campaign, allows us to continue our leadership for more research and better access to improved treatments."
v MHAROA is the only federation of charities designed to receive and distribute CFC funding specifically to mental health - focused initiatives. Starting in September and continue through the end of the year, mental health organizations are highlighted for federal employees interested in giving to such groups. As an MHAROA member, AACAP is recognized as one of the nation's top charities committed to helping people and organizations address the daily struggles facing human beings.
The CFC has been in operation for more than 40 years and is the only and most successful charitable giving program permitted in the federal workplace. Nearly four million federal workers are eligible to donate to CFC certified charities. These employees generously support those organizations they feel strongly about giving a combined total of more than $270 million each year.
