The Lung Association invites you to register now for the Coast 2 Coast Challenge, a virtual trek across Canada to raise awareness of COPD, a long-term breathing disease. Registration is free for this exciting event, which will start November 1st and go until November 18th, World COPD Day.

Everyone is welcome to take part. If you or someone you love has COPD, or if you're interested in supporting this great cause, please join us. Here's how it works:

1. You register for the Coast 2 Coast Challenge by contacting your provincial Lung Association- this page gives info on how to register in your province.

2. You keep track of the distance you exercise from November 1- 18th and report it to us. Any kind of exercise counts - walking, running, swimming, cycling, you name it.

3. We'll add up the total distance everyone covers. Together, we'll travel across Canada from coast to coast to coast, to raise awareness for COPD and celebrate the efforts of COPD patients and supporters.

Register now for the Coast 2 Coast Challenge - it's free and everyone is welcome to participate.

There's more: Our new COPD community website will re-launch soon!

The Coast 2 Coast Challenge event will be showcased on our new TeamCOPD.ca website. This website will track our progress on a map as we trek across Canada to raise awareness for COPD. Once the Coast 2 Coast Challenge starts on November 1st, you'll be able to check our progress every day.

The new TeamCOPD.ca website will also be your year-round online community for COPDers and their supporters. It will offer photos, profiles, videos and "tweets" (Twitter messages) from TeamCOPD community members. You'll be able to see what other people have posted and share you own profile, photos, and videos. Plan to visit http://www.teamcopd.ca later this week to get to see the new site and get to know your COPD community.
