Minister Aglukkaq Announces Re-Appointment Of John Hamm As Chair Of Assisted Human Reproduction Canada's Board Of Directors

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, announced the re-appointment of Dr. John Hamm as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Assisted Human Reproduction Canada.
"Dr. Hamm's reappointment ensures continued strong oversight of the Agency in its work to administer and enforce the Assisted Human Reproduction Act," said Minister Aglukkaq. "His professional medical career and his strength in working on complex issues with diverse stakeholders have served the Agency well."
Dr. Hamm obtained a B.Sc. at the University of King's College and graduated in medicine from Dalhousie University, both in Halifax. He was a family doctor for 30 years and was active in a number of professional organizations, serving as President of the Nova Scotia Medical Society, President of the College of Family Physicians of Nova Scotia and President of Aberdeen Hospital medical staff.
Dr. Hamm entered politics and was first elected to the provincial legislature in Nova Scotia in 1993. He served as Premier from 1999-2006. He has served on the Board as Chairperson since AHRC began operations in 2007.
Throughout his professional life, Dr. Hamm has been a strong advocate for improved health care in Nova Scotia and across Canada.
