SpineWorks, a medical device company focused on developing technologies to help treat those with complex spine conditions, announced that it will exhibit its FixxSure™ Cross Link at this year's North American Spine Society Meeting in San Francisco, California next month. It will be the first time the FixxSure technology will have been displayed at a major show.

Cleared for marketing by the FDA in July of last year, the implant marks a dramatic shift in conception, design and function when compared to current day cross links. SpineWorks' technology features a dual locking mechanism that combines with a direct upward locking motion which is unlike any other cross link currently on the market. This distinctive design provides the surgeon the ultimate ease of use.

SpineWorks has given the FixxSure Cross Link the tagline, "uniquely simple" largely due to its unique insertion screwdriver. The proprietary design of the screwdriver allows the one instrument to perform two functions: a primary locking and a secondary final tightening of the implant. It also enables the surgeon to perform both primary and secondary actions simultaneously if so desired.

"We're very proud of our FixxSure Cross Link technology and the ease of use it offers surgeons," said Doug Neary, SpineWorks' President. "We formed SpineWorks with a commitment to work closely and directly with spinal surgeons to conceive, nurture and advance innovative ideas and technology in spine surgery. That's how our FixxSure technology was developed and we're excited to see what other surgeons say about our technology at NASS."

Neary added that a variety of sizes of the FixxSure Cross Link technology will be on display for hands-on demonstrations at this year's NASS, Nov. 10-14, at Booth 427, along with other SpineWorks products, such as the Stansion Matrix™ VBR, designed to offer a simple and effective bone graft implant system solution to the spinal surgeon.
