On Thursday 12 November, pharmacists will be at CastleCourt shopping centre in Belfast offering free health advice and health check ups to mark the first ever Ask Your Pharmacist Week (9-15 November). The event is being organised by the National Pharmacy Association (NPA) and the Ulster Chemists' Association (UCA).
Anne McAlister, NPA Pharmacy Services Manager for Northern Ireland said: "The Ask Your Pharmacist campaign seeks to encourage people to visit their local pharmacy for advice, information and support on their health. There is a pharmacy in virtually every community on virtually every high street and there is no need to arrange an appointment, just drop in when it is convenient."
"Ask Your Pharmacist Week came about to give a focus to the Ask Your Pharmacist campaign. This year we are looking at promoting services that are available in community pharmacy including minor ailments, stop smoking, chlamydia test and treat and weight management."
