NPA Supports The Work Of The Welsh Pharmacy Task & Finish Group

In previous meetings between the NPA and Edwina Hart, Minister for Health and Social Services, the NPA has raised the need for a more strategic approach to be taken to the development of the community pharmacy network in Wales, in terms of the integration of the network and the services that will be delivered in the medium to longer term.

The NPA was pleased to see the announcement from the Minister that an expert Task & Finish Group was being formed with these objectives in mind. One of the NPA Board Members in Wales, Raj Aggarwal is a key member of the expert group.

The interim report of the Task & Finish Group has now been released and in a recent meeting with the Deputy Minister the NPA confirmed its support for the Task & Finish Group and welcomed the interim report.

The NPA also confirmed that it was committed to providing the support required to turn the outputs of the report into reality on the ground. The Task & Finish Group has taken up this offer and the NPA is now involved in more detailed supportive work on behalf of the group. The NPA recognises this as a key development that has the potential to move forward the pharmacy agenda and is fully committed to working on behalf of its members in Wales.
