The Academy has posted its Managed Care Pharmacy Experiential Education Directory on the AMCP website. The directory includes profiles on approximately 40 sites at health plans, PBMs, integrated health systems and managed care consulting firms that provide student pharmacists with experiential education.
New accreditation standards for colleges and schools of pharmacy include requirements to provide Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE). The directory will help experiential education directors at the schools and colleges of pharmacy secure managed care pharmacy APPE/IPPE sites for student pharmacists.
To access the directory, click here and then click on AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy APPE/IPPE Directory.
Each profile in the directory lists the preceptor contact information; a description of the rotation; length, flexibility and schedule of the rotation; site requirements and prerequisites; and whether the site is available to student pharmacists from any school or is limited.
The directory will be updated as new site profiles or updates are received. Organizations with an APPE and/or an IPPE that would like to be listed should complete the online profile submission by clicking here . If you are not a preceptor, please forward this information to the person at your organization responsible for APPE/IPPEs. For more information or to offer comments on the directory, contact April Shaughnessy, AMCP's Director of External Relations, at ashaughnessy@amcp.org.
