SAGE, the world's leading publisher of research methods, announced today that its new online research tool SAGE Research Methods Online (SRMO) will be developed by the RDW Group's iFactory, a web design and online publishing platform provider. SRMO is designed to support researchers and students with their selection and understanding of research methods in the social and behavioral sciences.
More than 100,000 pages of SAGE's leading book and reference material on research methods will be available through SRMO, enhanced with editorially selected material from SAGE journals. In total, more than 500 books will be available, including the complete Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences (QASS) "Little Green Books" series.
"Research methods have been a core part of SAGE's history, and it's fitting that as we move into our 45th year we are advancing our research methods program with this dynamic new online product," said Blaise Simqu, CEO, SAGE. "Research methods connect every researcher, from undergraduates to advanced researchers as well as business professionals. With SRMO we aim to support, engage and enrich the user experience, making research methods content accessible and flexible."
RDW Group's iFactory also developed the award-winning SAGE Reference Online platform. "iFactory showed us with SAGE Reference Online that they could combine innovation with user-focused design, and we're pleased to be working with them on SRMO," said Simqu.
SRMO will provide advanced search and discovery tools that will support researchers as they explore relevant content across the social and behavioral sciences, covering quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods. A visual 'methods map' will enable exploration of the connections between more than 2,000 methods, theories, and terms. SRMO's 'methods lists' function will enable users to store and share selected content.
"We are excited about the opportunity to do more innovative work for the world's leading research methods publisher," said Jose Fossi, CEO, iFactory. "By selecting iFactory to develop another one of its online tools, SAGE is validating our unique ability to create cutting-edge digital publishing solutions."
SRMO will be sold as a subscription product, with approximately 9,000 pages of new content added each year.
