Combining the opportunity to travel to unusual and interesting locations while furthering your pharmacy education has been the philosophy behind the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's popular Expedition Education conferences.

In February, the 2010 PSA Expedition Education Conference travels to Chile and Patagonia, offering delegates a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth.

The conference, which runs from 4 - 17 February, will include therapeutic topics relevant to advancing clinical knowledge in key areas of pharmacy practice as well as sessions focussed on helping run a pharmacy business more effectively. Attendance can earn delegates between 12 and 16 CPD points.

PSA Victorian Branch President and Chair of the 2010 Expedition Education Conference Committee, Mark Feldschuh, said the 14 day-itinerary would provide a "window into the remarkable contrasts that Chile represents".

"With so much on offer, Expedition Education will be focusing on the Central and Southern regions of Chile. First stop is in the country's capital Santiago, before heading to Puerto Varras - the capital of the Lakes Region," Mr Feldschuh said.

"The second week of the tour begins with entry into Patagonia - located at the very southern tip of Chile.

"Based at the entrance of Torres del Paine National Park, the surrounding region includes mountains, glaciers and lakes. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore the region on foot, on horseback or on water in order to gain a greater appreciation of its true beauty and significance.

"Registrations for the 2010 Expedition Education Conference close soon and this is an ideal end-of-year gift to yourself that not only broadens your horizons culturally, but expands your professional development as well," Mr Feldschuh said.
