World-renowned sexologist, Dr Carmita Abdo, today unveiled a global formula for measuring sexual satisfaction. Designed to be the sexual equivalent of the IQ (Intelligence Quotient), the SQ (Sexual Quotient) provides men with a global benchmarking tool that helps them and their partners assess the quality of their sex lives and optimise sexual pleasure.

This formula, developed as a result of research demonstrating that improved erectile function is closely related to improved levels of sexual satisfaction,1 requires couples to complete a 10 point self-assessment questionnaire on the entire sexual cycle including foreplay, erection quality, orgasm and intercourse satisfaction.

Dr Abdo and her husband, urologist Dr Joăo Abdo, run a successful sexual dysfunction clinic in Sao Paulo, Brazil and have already trialled the SQ with around 100 ED patients. Initial results reveal that consistent performance, reliability and hardness of erection are key factors for men and their partners to enjoy and improve sexual satisfaction.

Dr Abdo today said: "The Sexual Quotient is a simple tool that addresses both the physical and emotional components necessary for great sex, encouraging individuals to take a much more holistic approach to their sexual satisfaction".

The importance of hardness of erection in improved sexual satisfaction was further supported by data presented by Ulrich Wetterauer at ESSM. These data reveal that patients who have switched to Viagra from other ED medications, do so because of erection hardness and success.3

This holistic approach to sexual satisfaction is reinforced in data presented by Dr Mark Swierzewski at ESSM, which reveals that Viagra leads to improved desire for basic intimacy, as well as sexual intercourse in men with ED.2

Discovered and developed by Pfizer, Viagra is a breakthrough oral treatment for erectile dysfunction that has been found to be effective and well tolerated. There have been more than 130 completed and ongoing clinical studies with Viagra. Viagra has been approved by regulatory authorities in over 120 countries around the world and is among the most widely prescribed medications, with over 170 million prescriptions written for more than 23 million men worldwide.

Viagra is a prescription medication available only from doctors and should always be used in accordance with its approved labelling. Viagra is contraindicated in patients who use nitrates in any form at any time. The most common side effects of Viagra are headache, facial flushing and upset stomach. Bluish vision, blurred vision or sensitivity to light may briefly occur.
