New Ew Commitments Set By Society For Next 100 Days - Royal Pharmaceutical Society Of Great Britain

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain has outlined its next set of commitments to the profession which it intends to meet in 100 days time.

Several commitments were launched initially to give members a taste of what the new professional leadership body will offer. The majority of the 21 ambitious tasks underlying these commitments were completed or near completed and a couple of projects will be ongoing.

Twenty two new targets have now been set which include; the extension of Local Practice Forums, the launch of a new information, advice and support service for pharmacists, a new online network for members, quarterly surveys to get members feedback and a host of Continuing Professional Development support services.

Society President Steve Churton says; "2010 is going to be an exciting and critical year for pharmacy. The further commitments we are making today build upon those announced last September at the BPC, and reflect the fact that we are making good progress towards the launch of the new Royal Pharmaceutical Society later this year.

The great aspirations that we all share for our profession will come to fruition only if we build the infrastructure to deliver our short term goals and realise our long term ambitions. The National Pharmacy Boards, which are in the process of being elected, will be responsible for the further development and delivery of the strategy informed by the needs of our members, and it is therefore very important to me to provide the mechanisms which will increase member engagement and involvement.

We will do this through the fantastic efforts of all those involved with the formation of Local Practice Forums, and through the services and products which will flow from these latest commitments."
