The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is today launching the second phase of the campaign to encourage members to vote in the English, Welsh and Scottish Pharmacy Board elections by giving members "10 reasons to vote" over the next 10 days.
RPSGB Chief Executive, Jeremy Holmes said: "These historic elections offer members the chance to use the ballot box to shape the leadership of the new professional body, an opportunity we are encouraging every pharmacist in Great Britain to take up.
"We have worked hard over recent months to make sure these elections are "front of mind" for pharmacists. However, we are aware that the holiday period combined with the recent inclement weather may have distracted many from voting, by either using the paper forms or on-line.
"We are also aware that some pharmacists want help with the voting process, so we will be checking with as many pharmacists as possible that they have everything they need to participate in the elections. This really is a landmark election for the profession and I am committed to ensuring that as many pharmacists as possible participate."
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has
- Contacted a range of stakeholder organisations to ask them to use their networks to raise awareness about the election. Specifically, we have asked those that employ hospital, community and industrial pharmacists to give the pharmacists they employ or engage, (including locums), a few minutes during the working day to vote
- Pro-actively contacted pharmacists by e-mail and will continue to send updates to members encouraging them to vote
- Launched, (today), the 12th of January, a countdown campaign giving pharmacists 10 reasons why they should use the remaining 10 days to vote. A new reason will appear each day on http://www.pharmacyplb.com
