We are calling fundraisers from all over the South East to don their running shoes and race the 10 mile Great South Run, on Sunday 24th October, around the historic town of Portsmouth to help raise funds for diabetes research.

We are offering guaranteed places in this fast growing European road race for all Diabetes UK recruits. It costs just £35 to enter and runners are asked to raise an inspirational target of £250 each.

Our Diabetes UK runners will be given a fundraising pack and running vests, as well as receiving full support including a charity marquee in runners village on race day.

"This will be our fifth year at the BUPA Great South Run," said Penny January, Diabetes UK South East Regional Fundraising Manager. "Each year we have increased the number of runners in Team Diabetes UK. In 2010 we want to build on the success of previous years to raise £25, 000 and we have every expectation that our wonderful supporters will achieve this."
