The implications of the 2004 Presidential election on health policy, the future of entitlement programs, the promise and pitfalls of consumer-driven health plans, and early experiences of prescription drug discount cards - how will these critical issues influence the nation's health policy agenda in 2005?

The National Health Policy Conference, sponsored by AcademyHealth and the journal "Health Affairs", provides an in-depth look at the health policy issues facing the country and the challenges to finding solutions. Federal and state officials, health care scholars, business leaders, and commentators will debate and discuss major health policy concerns, including Medicare coverage decisions, malpractice reform and child health policy issues such as SCHIP reauthorization and the child obesity epidemic.
