The makers of the VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews, announced today national availability of the VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chew. The announcement comes in conjunction with the release of the VIACTIV® "What Women Chews" survey, which reports that as many as one-third (33 percent) of women in the U.S. never take a multi-vitamin1. Considering many women do not obtain the recommended daily allowance of vitamins and minerals from diet alone, the number could be improved. The survey also reports that nearly a quarter of these women claim to not take a vitamin regularly because they are unable to adopt and maintain a consistent routine.

The VIACTIV® "What Women Chews" Survey revealed additional relevant information regarding multi-vitamin intake and women's health, including:

-- Over two thirds of American women (69 percent) said that they believe taking a multi-vitamin makes them healthier.

-- Over half of all American women (52 percent) said they are more concerned about their health right now than they were a few years ago.

-- Women in the United States perform more complex/time consuming chores on a daily basis such as making the bed (67 percent) and flossing teeth (59 percent), over the simple act of taking a multi-vitamin (44 percent).

New VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chews combine ease of use and great taste to help women form the good habit of consistently taking a multi-vitamin. The chews come in two delicious flavors - Milk Chocolate and Tropical Fruit Splash™ - making large pills often associated with vitamins a thing of the past. VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chews are individually wrapped and can fit into a pocket or purse, making it easy for women to meet their nutritional needs while on the go.

"VIACTIV® realizes the nutritional needs and concerns of women and makes it a priority to address these concerns. The new VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chew provides a viable solution for women who have difficulty complying with a multi-vitamin routine," said registered dietitian Maureen Conway, director, Nutrition Services & Communications at McNeil Nutritionals, LLC.

VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chews contain 12 essential vitamins including Vitamins A, C, D and E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Biotin and Pantothenic Acid to help promote immune health, energy activation, heart health, bone strength, skin health and eye health. The chew also contains 20 percent of the daily value of calcium.

VIACTIV® Multi-Vitamin Chews are available in stores nationwide beginning this month.
