Sober Living in Delray, Recovery Residences, in conjunction with the "Moment of Change - Intervention Approaches for Professionals - 32nd National Conference" is sponsoring the presentation of "Mood Disorders and Addictive Disorders: Current Treatment Strategies" at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 29th, 2010 at the Old Calypso Restaurant in Delray Beach, Florida. Nationally recognized expert Dr. Dean J. Rotundo, M.D., P.A., F.A.P.A., will present the topic that is geared towards professionals who work with individuals suffering from mood disorders, chemical dependency, substance abuse, addictive disorders and a combination thereof. The interactive discussion will include case presentation of dual diagnosis patients (patients suffering from more than one diagnosis) and the least invasive means of treating these patients absent addictive medication.
Nationwide, fatalities from prescription drug overdoses are the second-leading cause of accidental death behind automobile accidents; therefore, clinicians have a moral and ethical obligation to address this crisis by considering effective and alternative treatments utilizing non-addictive medication. Dr. Rotundo will lead the thought-provoking discussion and discuss scientific, evidenced-based modalities and strategies.
