Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) announced that it is launching a new suite of products for individuals purchasing health care coverage. The individual plans offer a wide range of options for individuals and families looking to purchase health care coverage. "We designed the plans with input from consumers, because we know they are looking for good coverage at a very affordable price," says Kathy Dunmire, vice president for products. "We are offering a new plan, as well as updates to plans that have already been on the market. Our newest option is called GoBlue, which was designed especially to meet the needs of young adults looking for affordable coverage."

The plans offer features such as discounts at fitness clubs, affordable co-pays for doctor visits, and access to convenient retail clinics. The plans also include the new benefits outlined by federal health reform law, such as preventive care covered at 100 percent. The product offerings include InstaCare, GoBlue, Simply Blue, Personal Blue and Options Blue. The products offer consumers the ability to select from a range of plan designs including different deductibles and co-pays and plans with health savings accounts. GoBlue and Simply Blue are available to consumers age 19 to 64; Personal Blue and Options Blue are available for purchase both by individuals and families. InstaCare is a short-term coverage option (30-, 60-, or 90-day), which does not require underwriting and is not subject to health care reform provisions; it is available to consumers age 19 to 64.
