The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is accepting nominations for its 2005-2006 Board of Directors. The elections will be held in July with members seated in September during AAKP's 32nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas. Board members serve two-year terms. Nominations must be submitted by May 20.

The AAKP National Board of Directors is responsible for establishing goals and policies for the Association. In addition, Directors are responsible for attending three meetings per year, which may require traveling, participation in conference calls and committee membership.

In keeping with the bylaws of AAKP, more than 50 percent of the AAKP National Board of Directors is comprised of patients. The president must also be a kidney patient. In addition, nominees must be paid-to-date members of the Association.

For more information or to request a nomination form, please contact the AAKP National Office at (800) 749-2257 or info@aakp.org.

About AAKP - AAKP is the voluntary, patient organization, which for more than 35 years, has been dedicated to improving the lives of fellow kidney patients and their families by helping them deal with the physical, emotional and social impact of kidney disease. The programs offered by AAKP inform and inspire patients and their families to better understand their condition, adjust more readily to their circumstances and assume more normal, productive lives in their communities.
