"Time heals all wounds," isn't just a trite expression, according to Mark Stafford, M.D., associate professor of internal medicine at UAB.

When people feel fatigued, weak, dizzy or generally achy, they turn to their primary care doctors to feel better.

However, even with the latest medical advances, doctors are often unable to identify the causes of these common but troubling symptoms.

"Doctors, trained to do something, resist the discipline to do nothing and often resort to ordering tests, referring to specialists and treating symptoms, without much result." Stafford's advice: give it time. "Fortunately, the body has a wonderful capacity for achieving balance and healing. Time truly is the greatest medicine."
