ComplianceOnline, the leading governance, risk and compliance advisory network with over 500 experts in various regulatory subjects, today announced a seminar on The A to Z's of Microbial Control, Monitoring and Validation of Pharmaceutical Water Systems. The two day long, in-person seminar, led by well known water systems expert T.C. Soli, will be held on February 22 and 23, 2012 in San Francisco, California.

The seminar will provide a microbiology-focused education about all aspects of water systems and how biofilm manages to thrive there. Prior microbiological education or training, though a plus, is not a requirement.

T.C. Soli, Ph.D., who will be leading the seminar, is President of Soli Pharma Solutions, Inc. Dr. Soli lectures, audits, and provides troubleshooting expertise on water systems, sterilization, aseptic processing, contamination control, and microbiological laboratories. He has over 31 years of pharmaceutical experience as a consultant and with DSM Pharmaceuticals, Glaxo Wellcome, Burroughs Wellcome, and Pfizer.

For those unfamiliar with the role water systems play in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Soli will provide the necessary background needed to understand this very important subject matter. This understanding is essential to the proper design, validation, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of a high purity water system. Without this, water system control consists of a set of rules that often don't work and can cause very costly system downtime or even product recalls.

This 2-day course is particularly relevant to managers, supervisors, and operatives taking on new responsibilities related to water, but also for experienced water personnel to learn the "true" whys behind what they do and perhaps better ways of doing things.

Highlighting the importance of water system validation and monitoring, Dr. Soli said, "All pharmaceutical, biologics, and medical device facilities are likely to have high purity water systems. In spite of this purity, microorganisms can flourish within these systems and lead to undesirable contamination of facility processes and their products. It is, therefore, necessary to have a thorough understanding of biofilm and its impact on water system sampling, testing, sanitization, and routine maintenance."

Describing the importance of such training seminars, Priyabrata Sahoo, the Director of ComplianceOnline said, "As one of the premier providers of governance risk and compliance training in the world, we strive to get the best experts to deliver the training to industry professionals. These seminars have been designed to deliver value to audiences with varying levels of industry experience. We have conducted over 1,000 online training sessions and over 50 in-person events. These experiences have helped us deliver comprehensive, advanced and risk-free training to regulated industry professionals"

Dr. Soli praised ComplianceOnline's efforts to conduct accessible, best-in-class regulatory training courses, saying, "Over the past six years ComplianceOnline has established itself as one of the most trusted names in regulatory and compliance training. I am delighted to be part of such an initiative that helps professionals working in highly regulated industries execute their roles in a compliant manner, creating quality products and delivering high value services."
