The global landscape for clinical trials has continued to evolve and change over the last ten years. One of the biggest changes has been the shift towards the emerging markets.

The APAC region is generally one of the fastest growing economies in the world, one of the industries enjoying this increase in demand is the clinical research sector. Apart from being the fastest growing healthcare market in the world other key factors for this include a large treatment naïve population, the improvement of the healthcare infrastructure, low cost of running the trials and the large number of therapeutic indications.

There are of course key factors that need to be taken into account to ensure the trials are successful. Concerns such as approval process, logistic challenges, safety monitoring, qualified data and the limited number of trained CRA's have traditionally raised concerns for pharmaceuticals wanting to utilise the benefits.

This conference is aiming to raise the profile as a key region to conduct clinical research with the recent investment in the local infrastructure. We will be bringing together a delegation that includes both international and local pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, government officials, hospitals, acedamics and CRO's to improve and promote drug development.
