The rest of the cows from the same herd as the cow that tested positive to mad cow disease (BSE) have tested negative, according to officials from the Dept of Agriculture, USA.

To the relief of livestock farmers as well as many others in the USA whose livelihoods depend on cattle - beef is back on the menu in America.

The US Dept of Agriculture says this test is conclusive and they plan no further back-up tests.

All the cows from the same farm have now been tested and all have come back negative (except for the first one).
