Oxford Global Conferences were proud to present their highly esteemed Pharma R&D Europe Summits Series earlier in June in Geneva, Switzerland. Combining senior-level networking opportunities with an expert-led eight stream Congress programme, this series is well-established as the leading pharmaceutical discussion forum in Europe. Ensuring complete autonomy for delegates, and allowing them to tailor the agenda to areas of interest, the Summit was made up of the following events:

  • 15th Annual Drug Discovery Summit
  • 6th Annual Drug Development Congress
  • 2nd Annual Discovery Chemistry & Drug Design Congress

Over two days this Series brought together over 250 senior-level delegates from global pharmaceutical organisations, leading biotechs and esteemed academic institutions from around the world.

Held at the Intercontinental Geneva in Switzerland, Oxford Global's Pharma R&D Europe Summits Series featured over 60 expert speakers discussing the pressing challenges in medicinal chemistry, compound screening, target-based discovery and innovation access, alongside drug development topics including stem cell technology for predictive modelling, resistance biomarker studies and toxicogenomic applications for translational science. With speakers invited from many different fields, we received copious amounts of positive feedback regarding the variety of talks available, with the Vice President of Global Discovery Chemistry from Lundbeck commenting, "There was a good mix of science, strategy and operational challenges covered in the presentations, which I found really interesting."

Our events also have a strong networking focus, ensuring the time schedule of the Series allows for plenty of opportunities to meet delegates and solution providers alike, working in a similar field. The Manager of Business Development Europe from Metanomics Health covered many of these points when he reported,
"This Summit was very well organised, with a consistent number of good participants and high-profile presentations. There were also consistent networking opportunities throughout. I also liked that the summit was co-located with Discovery Chemistry and Drug Development".

In order to encourage networking and open discussion, Oxford Global offer delegates and solution providers the opportunity to pre-book 20 minute 1-2-1 meetings with the attendees of their choice, as well as inviting all attendees to a Networking Drinks Reception on the first day of the Series, once all presentations have finished. This has consistently proven to be a valued extra with our other events throughout the year, and the CEO of ZoBio BV, an attending solution provider, stated,
"The 1-2-1 meetings were the best part of the Summit for us. We had plenty of time to network all in one central place and the networking drinks on the first evening also proved beneficial for us". Every year we invite a number of relevant solution providers to the Summits to meet our delegates and fellow providers. Representing SAPHRON Database Service Center, SIRC/TCM, the attending Senior Account Manager remarked,
"We had a great time in Geneva and secured several opportunities to follow up. The structure of the event is wonderful, with a great level of attendee. We will see you in Geneva next year!"

Following the event, we analyse statistics and feedback we receive from attendees, and we are proud to announce that we achieved an 'Above Average' or 'Excellent' rating in the following categories:

  • the venue,
  • the overall organisation of the Congress,
  • the services of the Oxford Global staff,
  • the quality of attending delegates,
  • the administration and format of 1-2-1 meetings
  • the format of the Congress

This is great news for everyone involved in the production of Oxford Global's Pharma R&D Europe Summits Series 2014.
