Now in its fourth year of producing the industry's most original 3D printing and additive manufacture events, 3D Printshow is delighted to announce the launch of its first high-level Medical conference, which will take place on Thursday 26 March as an integral part of 3D Printshow Berlin (26, 27, 28 March 2015).

Standing as a platform for knowledge sharing as well as business development, the day will play host to some of the international MedTech community's most progressive and successful company players, including Stratasys, Materialise and EnvisionTEC. Through a varied selection of session formats, the day promises attendees an exclusive and inspiring insight into the present realities (and future possibilities) of 3D printing techniques for Medical applications - from the perspective of both vendors and end-users.

Unlike any other industry conference of its kind, the content at the 1st Edition International 3D Printshow Medical Conference will focus on two key 3D printing technique aspects: ANIMATE and INANIMATE.

The morning looks to explore the production of living cell structures through animate 3D bioprinting - including bioplotting, hardware/wetware design and a sector vertical analysis. To set the scene for this fascinating area of R&D, the conference's opening Keynote will be lead by the Scientific Founder of Organovo and Modern Meadow, Dr. Gabor Forgacs.

The afternoon will target key commercial applications of 3DP and AM technology for inanimate Medical application: Prosthetics, Orthotics and 3D printing for Medical modelling - with speakers including Stefaan Motte, the Director of Medical Division at Materialise.

In addition to over seven hours of high-level content, attendees will also gain access to the 3D Printshow Berlin showfloor - providing an excellent opportunity to explore the 3D Printshow Hospital feature in particular. This space will be exhibiting and demonstrating some of the conference content, and will also provide an area for exclusive networking opportunities between the conference sessions.

Sessions and speakers include:

  • Opening Keynote, Dr. Gabor Forgacs, Organovo
  • "From Maker to Medical: Designing Bioprinting Hardware & Wetware", Jordan Miller, Rice University
  • "3D Printed Orthotics and Orthotic Product Development", Dr. Jari Pallari, Peacocks Medical Group

Sessions are also confirmed from high-level representatives at Stratasys, Materialise and EnvisionTEC. More speakers in addition are yet to be announced.
