New information on avian and pandemic influenza has been added to the IDSA (Infectious Diseases Society of America) website.

These materials are accessible on the homepage under "New at IDSA" and by clicking on Avian/Pandemic Flu in the green "Information About" box. The extensive information provided covers avian flu as it pertains to humans, avian flu as it pertains to wildlife, and pandemic flu. These new sections will be a resource for infectious diseases physicians who will be on the front lines when the avian influenza situation in Asia progresses.

· Avian Influenza (Bird Flu): Implications for Human Disease.

· Avian Influenza (Bird Flu): Agricultural and Wildlife Considerations

· Pandemic Influenza

The materials are developed and provided by the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, with oversight from IDSA's Bioterrorism Work Group, which is chaired by Dr. Marguerite (Peggie) Neill. The information will be continually updated to reflect new developments.

Influenza is a top priority for IDSA. This information is an important addition to the website given the current global influenza situation.
