The Nevada State Board of Pharmacy on Wednesday tentatively endorsed... applications from seven of 10 Canadian pharmacies for licenses to sell prescription drugs to state residents, the AP/Las Vegas Sun reports. The pharmacy board denied two of the applications because they were incomplete and rejected a third application because the pharmacy did not have proper licensure in Canada. Louis Ling, general counsel for the pharmacy board, and a state pharmacy inspector will travel to British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba during the week of Sept. 19 to conduct onsite inspections of the endorsed pharmacies. Pharmacies that pass inspection will appear on a state Web site by Sept. 23, Ling said. Under a Nevada law that took effect on July 1, state residents can purchase a 90-day supply of medication from licensed Canadian pharmacies through the state Web site. Residents can fax or mail their prescriptions to the Canadian pharmacies to have them filled (Riley, AP/Las Vegas Sun, 9/7).
