Under the support of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, Dubai hosts the 3rd GCC Pharmacy Congress this October 2016, which is also supported by the Executive Board, Health Ministers' Council for Cooperation Council States, Saudi Arabia, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), Bahrain Medical Society, Oman Pharmaceutical Society, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dubai Pharmacy College, University of Sharjah, Al Ain University for Science and Technology and organised by Maarefah Management.

Regional and international speakers will discuss pressing issues in the field of pharmacy with a focus on the role of regulators in supporting pharmacy practice and patient care in the region, achieving high standards and complying with international accreditation requirements for healthcare organisations, reducing the gap between pharmacy education and practice, exploring latest pharmacy technologies and automation that better serves the patient, the important role of the entire medical team in reducing medication errors, achieving best practices in special patient groups such as neonates and patients on parenteral nutrition and other crucial issues in the field of pharmacy practice.

Dr. Doaa Said, Managing Director of Maarefah Management, described the congress as one of the main annual meetings in the region, highlighting this year's edition which will witness collaboration with main regional organisations in the area of pharmacy and will represent one of the main strategic platforms that will gather international and regional experts to discuss the latest updates, best practices and technologies to achieve excellence in pharmacy practice in the region.
