SMi Group will return to London with their 11th annual Paediatric Clinical Trials conference taking place on the 20-21 March 2017.

The 2017 programme for Paediatric Clinical Trials will review the latest developments leading to the advancement of paediatric medicines. This will be achieved through an array of sessions hosted by leaders and senior personnel within the Paediatric community who will focus on regulation, clinical trials, drug development, incentives and recruitment and retention of patients.

Andy Kenwright, Senior Statistical Scientist from Hoffmann-La Roche has recently joined the expert speaker line-up, he will discuss the hot topic of data extrapolation. His presentation will touch upon the following key points:

  • Children taking part in clinical trials often fall outside of expected study behaviours and standards
  • Simply applying standards you apply to adults may well not work for children - from lab ranges to dosing regimens to summary graphs and physiological or PK/PD assumptions
  • A fundamental paradigm is that children are constantly growing and changing. How do we track this when we want stability during our trial periods?
  • In developing a paediatric toolkit at Roche, what are the broad stroke highlights of some of the most "current" topics?

His insightful presentation will make a great addition to the agenda where he will be joined by the likes of GSK, European Medicines Agency, Johnson & Johnson, Insys Therapeutics, AstraZeneca and many more... To view the full two day programme, visit the event website.

There is currently an early bird offer available; book by 16th of December to save £200 off the conference price. Register at www.paediatric-trials.co.uk/
