The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) announced today that it will hold a briefing for industry leaders on December 5th & 6th, 2005 at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC.

The focus of the meeting will be two-fold:

1 - Identifying federal contract & grant support for telemedicine
2 - Use of telemedicine in home health, disease management & remote monitoring

Discussions will address the following areas:

- US military research into advanced medical technology

- How AARP is transforming traditional healthcare by reaching out directly to the consumer

- The White House Conference on Aging

- National Health IT Initiatives

- Legislation & advocacy issues related to remote monitoring, disease management & home telehealth

- Medicare & Medicaid support for telehealth initiatives
